Today, we take a closer look at Amsterdam. The city is criss-crossed by canals, which gives it its very own character and charm. The best way to experience Amsterdam is by water. Therefore, we invite you on a one-hour canal tour, where you can enjoy the harbor, experience the narrow canals and see the many beautiful gabled houses. Some of the houses are very narrow, as in the past it was common for the property tax to be set according to the width of the house facing the canal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Back on MS Leonora, we enjoy lunch while sailing towards Cologne. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon on the ship's sun deck or relax in the cozy lounge. We enjoy dinner on board, and afterwards we are served coffee in the lounge, where the ship's musician plays up for dancing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vi g\u00e5r i land og f\u00f8lger rejselederen p\u00e5 en byvandring, hvor vi blandt andet bes\u00f8ger byens ber\u00f8mte katedral. Den smukke K\u00f6lner Dom er byens vartegn og kirken slap mirakul\u00f8st n\u00e6sten uskadt fra de allieredes bombardementer under 2. verdenskrig. Der bliver selvf\u00f8lgelig tid til at shoppe eller at slukke t\u00f8rsten med et frisksk\u00e6nket glas K\u00f8lsch, i en af byens \u00f8lstuer. Both breakfast and lunch are enjoyed on the ship, while the beautiful landscape glides by. In the early afternoon we arrive in Cologne. We go ashore and follow the tour guide on a city walk, where we visit the city's famous cathedral, among other things. The beautiful Cologne Cathedral is the city's landmark and the church miraculously escaped almost unscathed from the Allied bombings during World War II. Of course, there will be time to shop or quench your thirst with a freshly poured glass of K\u00f8lsch, in one of the city's beer halls. We eat dinner on board, and afterwards we continue in the loungbar, where there is the opportunity to move your legs when the ship's musician plays up to dance. <\/p>\n"},{"title":"R\u00fcdesheim","content":"\n
After breakfast, you can enjoy the beautiful view from the sun deck. On the way to R\u00fcdesheim, we pass the famous Lorelei rock, where the passage is very narrow and was previously associated with great danger. Lorelei has been personified as an enchanting and seductive woman who led the sailors into misfortune by diverting their attention so that they were shipwrecked at the dangerous cliffs. Of course, this is not the case today, but the myth of the beautiful Lorelei with the long, golden hair lives on. We enjoy lunch on board before we dock in the wine town of R\u00fcdesheim in the middle of the afternoon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Together with the tour guide, we either travel by bus or take the cable car, up to the Niederwald Denkmal, from where there is a formidable view of the city and the Rhine Valley with the many vineyards. We take a walk in R\u00fcdesheim, where we pass through the cozy Drosselgasse with small vineyards and half-timbered houses. There will be time for you to sit down in a small caf\u00e9 and enjoy a R\u00fcdesheimer Kaffee, a glass of wine or a good glass of beer. Back on the ship, we enjoy a good dinner on board. M\/S Leonora is docked close to the city centre, so it is also possible to go ashore and enjoy R\u00fcdesheim in the evening. The trip departs the next morning at 06:00 towards Mannheim with arrival at noon. <\/p>\n"},{"title":"Mannheim","content":"\n
In Mannheim, we disembark and drive about 20 km to Heidelberg, which is one of Germany's most beautiful cities. There are a wealth of charming houses here. The whole area is seeded with magnificent castles and river valleys, where some of Germany's best wine is produced. The city is a university town, and this leaves its mark on the streetscape. The many students from home and abroad fill the streets well, and there is life and happy days. We are back on the ship in the late afternoon. <\/p>\n"},{"title":"Strasbourg","content":"\n
During the night, the course is set for France. In Strasbourg, we visit, among other things, the beautiful Petit France, which is located in the well-preserved center. Strasbourg is located in northern Alsace and has alternately been under French and German rule. Now, however, the city is a symbol of reconciliation between France and Germany and thus of peace in Europe. Several EU institutions are housed in the city, including the parliament. Strasbourg is both a fashionable city with chic shops and beautiful streets, while at the same time it is an old city with half-timbered walls, small alleys and narrow canals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
